For painting companies

Painting contractor marketing that gets you found on Google Maps

When a homeowner is ready to repaint before a sale or after a remodel, they search for painters near them and call a few names from the top of the map. We fix and manage your Google listing so you show up in more of the neighborhoods you serve when that search happens.

Where the calls go

10 reasons painting companies lose calls on Google Maps, and what we do about each

Painting contractor checking a map on his phone in front of a finished home
  1. Painting customers research before they call.

Repaints are planned jobs, so people compare three or four painters by photos, reviews and how complete the listing looks. If you are not in that short list in their part of town, you never get to bid.

What we do: we work your listing so it can show up in more of the neighborhoods you serve, and we show you exactly where you stand on a 49 point map.

  2. Your service list is stuffed with search phrases.

We have seen painting listings with more than 100 service entries, most of them duplicates or keyword phrases like painters near me. That clutter does not help and makes the listing look careless.

What we do: we trim your services down to the real ones, like interior, exterior, cabinet painting, deck staining and commercial painting, each with a clear line, after you approve the list.

  3. Your description is cut off midsentence.

Google stops descriptions at 750 characters. Many painters paste a long paragraph and the most important part never shows.

What we do: we write a complete description that fits, names the work you want and reads well on a phone.

  4. Your service area is padded with ZIP codes and repeats.

ZIP code entries and the same town listed twice do not add reach. Meanwhile the neighborhoods you actually want work from are often missing.

What we do: we clean up duplicate and ZIP code entries and add the towns and neighborhoods you want, with your approval.

  5. Hundreds of reviews and still hard to find.

We have scanned painters with hundreds of reviews who reached the top 3 at only a couple of points, while competitors with far fewer did better. Reviews help, but they do not fix weak categories, services or distance.

What we do: we fix the parts of the listing reviews cannot fix, and suggest a reply to every new review so your reputation keeps working for you.

  6. You show up near the shop and vanish across the county.

Google leans on distance, so a painter can own the map close to home and miss the northern half of the service area entirely. From your own phone it all looks fine.

What we do: we run a 49 point scan that shows green where you are in the top 3 and red where you are not, and we rescan the same points every month.

  7. Your best work is not on the listing.

Painting sells on finished rooms, crisp trim and before and after exteriors. A listing with a few old photos and no posts gives customers nothing to compare.

What we do: we publish one post a week with up to three of your job photos, approved by you.

  8. Two locations that do not match each other.

Painters with a second profile for a nearby county often have different hours, different start years or one closed on days the other is open. Mixed signals like that make both profiles look less trustworthy.

What we do: we line up hours, details and holiday hours across your profiles and run a separate scan for each one, so you can see both maps.

  9. Exterior season is short and winter gets thin.

Exterior jobs crowd into the warm months, then calls drop when the weather turns. A listing that only gets attention in spring starts every year behind.

What we do: we keep posts going all year, with off season posts about interior, cabinet and commercial work you want more of.

  10. Estimates get lost to voicemail.

You are on a ladder or at a walkthrough when the phone rings, and a homeowner comparing painters will just call the next one on the list.

What we do: we track calls and clicks from Google every month, and if you want it, our AI receptionist answers every call on the first ring and books the estimate. It is optional.

Real fixes from real painting listings

We sign mutual NDAs with our clients, so we describe the work instead of naming the business.

A painting contractor in Florida with two Google profiles. On the main profile we cut 106 service entries down to 37 (68 were duplicates, search phrases and restatements), replaced a description that was cut off at Google's 750 character limit with a complete one, cleaned up duplicate and ZIP code service areas and added the neighborhoods the owner wanted. All of it was approved by the owner in writing first.
On the same painter's second profile we trimmed 61 service entries to 30, set hours to match the main profile (it had been closed on Sundays), corrected the year the business started so both profiles match and added holiday hours. We publish a post on each profile every week, and the owner gets a dated change log of what changed, when and why.
When that owner saw a dip in his website analytics, we rescanned the map the same day and showed him with his own numbers that his map position had held, so nothing got undone in a panic.
On our first scan of that Florida painter, the main profile had hundreds of reviews at 4.8 and reached the top 3 at 12 of 49 points, but did not show in the top 20 anywhere across the northern rows of the map. A competitor with about 100 fewer reviews reached the top 3 at 16. The second profile showed up at only 3 of 49 points and never reached the top 3, while a competitor with about a dozen reviews reached it at 12.
A house painting company in Middle Tennessee with more than 400 reviews reached the top 3 at just 2 of 49 points when we scanned it. Two competitors with roughly 150 and more than 250 reviews each reached the top 3 at 16.

Every business and market is different. We do not promise rankings. We show you the same map every month so you can see what changed.
